In that discipline there is what is known as a "devotee"--someone who is extremely devoted. That is me when it comes to the Hasselblad V system. Though long outmoded, somehow I get a rush every time I use it, and I have a superb V system. The Mamiya RZ was on that list.
And so, I built a superb RZ system in addition to my V system. And how did it compare? If the V system was initially designed in the late 1940's, the RZ system, designed decades later [if not half a century], noted all the issues with the V system... And then improved it EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVELY. When I bought my first RZ camera I made a point of having no expectations before it arrived--just to be open.
Frankly, I was blown away by the clear intelligence at work in developing this system, that is so obviously superior to the V system in so many ways. The lens mount, for instance: fool proof and incredibly solid. The film backs and how they secure to the body...Never mind the dark slides! The 6x7 format vs 6x6--though you can shoot 6x6 with the RZ if you wish... And I do love that square format. The fine focusing feature--with lock.
All lenses share the same 77mm filter size. The extensive list of accessories. The list goes on and on and on.It is truly impressive equipment. I never thought anything would compare to the V system...
I immediately found it to be a joy to use... And almost everything was intuitive.
I really love this stuff... Only reluctantly, and only because necessity dictates it. This is a RZ67 Pro IID.
As you probably know, "D" stands for digital, so this body is ready to accept the digital back of your choice. It comes with strap, film back w/cap, standard prism, extra Type A4 focusing screen and extra batteries. As far as I know, everything is fully functional--though I have only used it very briefly. As stated, it is all in beautiful/mint- condition as I look at all of it. Very little if any sign of use that I can see and that, as I have said, is barely noticeable.
You really have to look for it to notice it. The shutter fires, the focusing is smooth, the bellows looks great. It all seems as it should be--without actually shooting with it. This is a beautiful camera. If the item still has its original packaging, I will use that.
If not, I will try to seal the item in a seal-able plastic bag, and then immerse it in foam/bubble wrap, depending on the item. I use duct tape to hold the carton together. I have a lot of experience with this. It will be very carefully packed.
It has enabled me to use some of the finest photographic gear ever made when I never could have even dreamed of affording it new. I will do everything I can to make this a pleasant experience for you.
If an issue does arise, I will work with you until it is solved. International buyers: please do not ask me to engage in deception in order to bring down your cost.
