5x7 Press Graflex Camera Converted to take modern film holders

Here is a vintage 5x7 Press Graflex camera. The camera has been converted to take modern film holders used today. Originally this camera used a larger size plate or film holder and people could not use the current film holders in the Press Graflex. Now that this camera has been modified this camera will only take present day modern 5x7 film holders.

The focal plane shutter in the camera worked and I fired it several times but while doing so two of the ribbons between the segments of the curtain broke so the curtain needs to be repaired. I feel the curtain segments are too stiff to use the current curtain but there are people out there who sell curtain material and some who install new curtains in these cameras. I checked the bellows and they were light tight. The hood is in good shape.

The leather covering looks nice but some of the leather has been replaced in some areas and is missing in a few spots. The handle is original and looks very nice. The camera does not come with a lens. The camera does not have a ground glass in the modern back but you could put one in if you wanted to. As it is one would need to use the reflex hood to focus. Once the curtain has been fixed it looks like an excellent usable example. Check out my other auctions for more vintage cameras and lenses.
