He was going to trade it in to Capture Integration as/is, but I intercepted and bought it off him because I was specifically looking to use this back to shoot-to-card, I wasn't worried about tethering. The original owner told me he would get an error message every-once-in-a-blue-moon, but in the two years I've that issue happen once; when the cable from the lens to the back came partially off the lens. I'm just mentioning to be as transparent as possible. This is perfect for someone that wants a back to toss on a 500C/M and shoot to card. Both batteries still hold charges.
(If you don't have a battery attached to the back and too long a time goes by, the internal clock will need to be reset next time you put a charged battery on it). As well as a few example photos I've taken with it over the last few years. The rear LCD still has a clear cover/sticker/protector on it, so don't let what looks like scratches scare you - it's just the thin clear cover. This back has GORGEOUS resolution and I wish my eyes worked better with the old Hasselblad lenses I have. It does not work with firewire/tethering.
The back is fully functional aside from the tethering issue. You could have it fixed by Phase One, but I never bothered. Having it fixed because I was using this back on location and only wanted to shoot to CF card, which this back does beautifully. This is a working medium format digital back that shoots to CF card. And fully understands that this back will not tether to a computer or laptop for tethered shooting.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Higher resolution images of the actual item can be seen here. I hope to find a new home for this fantastic little digital back.
